Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR)...

Ask a question, save a life.

From the QPR Institute website:

We can all save lives

"The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. The signs of crisis are all around us. We believe that quality education empowers all people, regardless of their background, to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know."

In 2019, after several suicides at a local university, one of our team members, Pam Bolden, asked her son who was attending the university, "What would you do if a friend of yours told you he/she was going to take their own life?" He responded, "Tell them not to do it. " Having taken QPR training, Pam was aware that that was not a good enough answer. She knew that more could be done and more people needed to learn what they should be doing in this case. Pam approached Tri-State Administration with the idea that we usually respond after an incident happens, what if we were able to do something positive and have an impact on lowering the suicide rates in our community. Even though QPR is not directly in line with our Tri-State mission, our leaders agreed, and some of our members became QPR Gatekeeper Trainers. We are able to provide QPR training to law enforcement, mental health  professionals, students, educators or any other group that wants to learn this simplistic, practical approach that teaches the warning signs and what to do when you encounter them.

Please contact us if your organization would like to receive QPR training. Of course we always bring  some of our Tri-State canine teams with us during the training to provide comfort and support as needed.
